About Us 

Welcome to Big Pine Land, a family-owned and operated private real estate development company specializing in purchasing, developing, and selling rural land for residential and recreational uses. Rooted in Columbus, Ohio, with a history in rural land sales dating back to the 1970s, we are committed to preserving the land’s natural beauty while creating spaces that embody a relaxed, country lifestyle while providing easy access to modern conveniences and large employers.


Headed by CEO Alicia Wilcox Prokos, the daughter of an esteemed Ohio Real Estate Broker, she inherits a profound love for land from her father, James L Wilcox, who successfully sold his former, very successful development company, Countrytyme Land, to a protégé in 2017. However, unable to stay away from the land he loves, he has started a new one, Big Pine Land, with his daughter, who manages the company and continues the legacy. Alicia's lifelong passion for real estate and extensive background in business create the main driving forces behind Big Pine Lands' success. Assisting Alicia in steering growth is our Land Acquisition and Development manager, Claudia Shealy. Claudia brings her background in GIS and mapping to our purchases and helps ensure the project is carefully planned and executed. 


At Big Pine Land, our focus currently extends across Southwest Ohio, Central Kentucky, and Eastern Tennessee. Our development portfolio caters to both residential homes as well as recreational lots. Most of the lots we develop are designed for those envisioning a custom-built home with utilities and ideal building sites. However, we also curate land tailored for recreational enthusiasts, whether it be for hunting, fishing, or the pursuit of weekend escapes to a cabin or even a tiny home. 


We proudly partner with accomplished real estate agents, contractors, engineers, lawyers, and various public sectors to create valued properties that align with the feel of the surrounding neighborhood or community. 


As we continue to grow, we are actively seeking large "exurban" tracts in outlying counties surrounding Lexington, Cincinnati/Dayton, Nashville, Johnson City, Knoxville, Chattanooga, and Greenville, SC.
